Description

Elevat – This is an antidepressant that is used to treat depression and anxiety. Obesity and eating disorders are also treated with it.

Information about Elevat

  • Elevat contains fluoxetine, an antidepressant that belongs to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors class of medicines (SSRI).
  • Elevat works in the brain to correct a chemical imbalance that is thought to be one of the main causes of depression and other mood disorders, specifically a lack of serotonin (a neurotransmitter or brain chemical that allows nerve cells to communicate) which regulates many bodily functions, including mood regulation.
  • The medicine contains fluoxetine, which prevents serotonin from being reabsorbed from the synapse, which is the space between nerve cells via which chemical impulses are transferred from one nerve cell to the next.
  • When the reuptake of serotonin by the first nerve cell (pre-synaptic) is prevented, there is more serotonin available for the receiving nerve cell (post-synaptic), allowing nerve cells to converse for longer.
  • Elevat capsules work by raising serotonin levels in the brain, which stimulates neuronal pathways that affect mood. This helps treat symptoms of depression and other mood disorders.
